You must appear on the court date shown on your courtesy notice or contact the Traffic Division for a court appointment before the court date on your citation. If your appearance in court is required, your courtesy notice will indicate “Yes” next to the words “Must go to Court.”
Do not disregard your citation if you do not receive your courtesy notice in the mail. You must appear at the courthouse or settle your case by mail by your court date, whether or not you receive the courtesy notice.
Appropriate business attire is required to appear in court. You may need to allow adequate time for parking and to check through the security entrance. You can go to the Fairfield and Vallejo visit pages for more information.
If your case is delinquent, contact the appropriate court branch to determine court appearance eligibility, or call 1-800-333-8395 if your case is 60 days or more past due.
Contacting the court on or before your court date is recommended if you are interested in scheduling a court appointment.
You may appear as a walk-in on the court date on your citation if space is available on the calendar for your matter to be heard. Walk-ins may require more time as they are heard at the end of the appointment calendar, and are limited to available time slots.
Fairfield check-in times to walk-in are: Mon – Wed 8 AM – 9 AM
Vallejo check-in times to walk in are: Mon – Fri 8 AM – 8:30 AM
